Florida Hospital DeLand offers a wide variety of surgical services from general surgery and orthopedics to podiatry and gynecology. Our facility offers complete operating and recovery room services. Our Surgery Department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and a skilled team of professionals that includes professional nurses, certified technicians, board certified anesthesiologists, certified nurse anesthetists and other specialists.

Same Day Surgeries

Our Surgical Services Department offers a number of minimally invasive procedures, so you can recover in the comfort of your own home. Some of the more common Same Day Surgeries include:

Arthroscopy (left and/or right knee): Visual examination of the interior of a joint with a special surgical instrument.

Carpal Tunnel Release: Release of the compression of the nerve. Carpal Tunnel usually passes through the wrist into the hand and is characterized by weakness, pain and distributions of sensations in the hand.

Hernia Repair: Repair of a rupture of an organ or part through connective tissue or through a wall of the cavity, which is normally enclosed.

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal): Performed with new video technology, which enables removal of the gallbladder through a tiny incision at the navel.

Lithotripsy: Use of shock waves to pulverize kidney stones non-invasively.

Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy: A minimally invasive procedure to determine if breast cancer has spread without having to do a traditional axillary lymph node dissection.

Uterine Balloon Therapy (UBT): Removal of the endometrial lining of the uterus to treat excessive menstrual bleeding. Often used as an alternative to hysterectomies.
