Birthing Suites – An Environment of Warmth and Love
From the serene color palette to the state-of-the-art equipment and safety features, each suite provides an inviting environment for you to labor, deliver and recover - all in one room.
The Suites include:
• 6 Private Labor and Delivery Rooms
• 12 Private Mother/Baby rooms where Moms, Babies, & Dads can stay together
• All rooms equipped with a sofa chair, family meal area, and TVs
• 2 dedicated Operating Room Suites
Newborn Care – A Team at Your Service
Now that you are a family, special care is in order. A highly trained and specialized registered nurse cares for the mother and baby throughout the postpartum stay and we encourage family participation. And, if special medical needs arise, you can be assured our nursery is equipped for critical care and stabilization. The unit also provides Code Alert sensor on newborns ankle for added security.
Free Newborn Evaluation
If you are a breastfeeding mother, we will schedule an appointment with the Parent Education Office for this free evaluation during your first week home. This visit allows you to have your baby weighed and a breastfeeding evaluation to help insure you and your baby are doing well. Mothers appreciate this meeting as a n opportunity to move forward in thier skills. This visit is in conjunction with pediatric care. All mothers from the community are welcome to attend.

Open Tours – Visit Us Before Your Baby Does
We invite you to come and see our Center and become familiar with the variety of services and choices we offer. Although most classes include a tour of the BirthCare Center, you can still take advantage of a COMPLIMENTARY tour of our facility, even if you have not registered for classes.

“Pay As You Grow” - Maternity Contract
We understand that birthing is about choices, and for that purpose, Florida Hospital DeLand offers a short stay 24 HOUR, a short stay 48 HOUR and Cesarean Section maternity program contracts from the time of admission for those mothers and infants who meet certain medical criteria as determined by their physicians. “Pay As You Grow” contracts are only available for those mothers and infants not covered by insurance.

Family Visitation – A Special Time for Everyone
Big brothers and sisters and other family members are welcomed visitors at our BirthCare Center. To that end, the BirthCare Center is designed to meet the comfort needs of those close to you. And since these first moments with your new baby are special times, we encourage you to discuss your particular desire for visitation ahead of time. We request that you let us know about your needs in advance so we can assist you in carrying out your birth plan whenever possible.
