Dr. Hendrik Dinkla, Medical Director

Florida Hospital DeLand's Sleep Disorders Center adheres to the guidelines of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and is supervised by Medical Director, Hendrik Dinkla, M.D., who is board certified in sleep disorders. 

Dr. Dinkla joined Florida Hospital DeLand more than 15 years ago. Founding the Sleep Disorders Center in 1990, Dr. Dinkla has worked to expand the program and the facility over the years.

"It has been a privilege to work at a facility that has afforded me the opportunity to expand and grow my practice," says Dinkla. "While sleep disorders are just beginning to be recognized in the healthcare community as life-threatening conditions, we're ahead of the learning curve due to the progress and growth we've made during the past 15 years. Florida Hospital DeLand is setting the standard for sleep disorder centers."

Having received his doctoral degree in Neurology, Dr. Dinkla became interested in sleep disorders when he became a patient. Suffering from sleep apnea, Dr. Dinkla enrolled in a sleep study and has since been treated with PAP, positive airway pressure. In addition to treating patients with sleep apnea, Dinkla also specializes and treats Restless Leg Syndrome, REM Behavior Disorder, Narcolepsy and Parasomnias.

Dr. Dinkla earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami , School of Medicine . He received additional training in Polysomnography and Sleep Disorders Medicine at Stanford University in California and received his board certification in Sleep Medicine Disorders by the American Board of Sleep Medicine and in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
