Intensive Care

Like all of our departments, our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Florida Hospital DeLand aims to provide high-quality care. We are proud to provide primary nursing to our patients. With primary nursing, a nurse is assigned to a patient and tends to that patient throughout their entire shift.  This allows our staff to access the patient, monitor his/her illness and address the patient's specific needs.

Our Intensive Care Unit includes 24 private rooms to accomodate the needs of our patients and their families during these delicate moments. We are equipped with two negative pressure rooms for isolation purposes. These rooms are devoted to patients with serious respiratory illnesses.

Our large and spacious waiting room includes a consultation room for family members to meet with physicians privately.

Progressive Care

Our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a direct extension of the ICU.  This is a 12 bed unit with all private rooms.  This unit provides primary nursing care with a primary nurse being responsible for the care and treatment of your loved one during their stay.

The nurses in both ICU and PCU are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
