Busy Schedules No Longer an Excuse. Florida Hospital DeLand Offers Extended Mammography Hours
DELAND, FLORIDA, June 8, 2007— Florida Hospital DeLand announced today the extension of its mammography hours beginning on Monday, June 11. The Women’s HealthCare Center will now be open from 7:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday allowing for an additional 13 appointments per day and 65 per week.
“The extra evening hours will allow us to accommodate working women, our growing community and the demands of our referring physicians,” said Women’s HealthCare Center Manager Dawn Chase, RT(M), BS. “By extending our hours, we hope to help those who have demanding schedules find time for their annual exams,” she continued.
In addition to providing mammography, the Women’s HealthCare Center at Florida Hospital DeLand provides bone density screening for Osteoporosis. The new schedule will allow for 80 more women each week to obtain one of these important screenings.
According to the American Cancer Society, early detection leads to better chances that treatment will work. Mammograms are important tools in finding breast cancer before the onset of symptoms. Yearly mammograms are recommended starting at age 40 and continuing for as long as a woman is in good health.
