Florida Hospital DeLand Appoints New Foundation Director

DeLand, Fla., January 5, 2009 - Florida Hospital DeLand has appointed Jennifer Lyons as the Foundation Director.

As director, Lyons will be responsible for promoting awareness, building relationships and identifying and developing opportunities for financial support of the hospital and its efforts. Additionally, she will increase financial prospects via special event sponsorships, annual appeals and corporate and major gift giving programs.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Lyons was the Director of Cardiopulmonary, Cath & IR, Rehab, Sleep Disorders and Diabetes. She has a background in marketing, business development and strategic planning, along with over fifteen years nursing experience in acute care, long term care, home health, hospice and intensive inpatient rehab.

Lyons is an active member in the community. She has served as chair for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and as a team captain for the American Heart Association's Heart Walk and is a member of One Voice for Volusia.

Lyons is a Deland High School graduate, as are both of her sons - one of which is in the Air Force; the other attends University of South Florida.  She is married to Gerald (Jerry) Lyons and resides in DeLand.
