DELAND, FLORIDA, December  11, 2006—Florida Hospital DeLand announces the promotion of Assistant Vice President Nigel Hinds, CPA to Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Hinds began his CFO duties in November.

Hinds has worked with Florida Hospital for nearly 18 years, beginning first in the dietary department while attending school, and became a Financial Analyst at Florida Hospital Orlando once he graduated. He joined the West Volusia family in October of 2000 as the Controller first for Florida Hospital Fish Memorial and then as Controller for both Florida Hospital Fish Memorial and Florida Hospital DeLand from 2002-2005 until he was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Finance at Florida Hospital DeLand.

“We were looking for a talented and knowledgeable person with demonstrated commitment to the organization, our mission and our strong customer-service principles,” said Florida Hospital DeLand President and CEO Daryl Tol. “I’m thrilled to have found the ideal candidate right here and believe Nigel will be an excellent addition to the hospital’s executive team.”

In his new role, Hinds will play a larger part in strategic planning. “I look forward to helping build the strategies that will keep our hospital growing so that we can continue to deliver exceptional health care to our community,” said Hinds.
