WHAT:  Florida Hospital DeLand is hosting a free lecture about “Women and Heart Disease” featuring Dr. Oscar West. 

WHO:  Cardiologist Oscar D. West, MD, BC, of Cardiology Consultants, PA will present information about women and heart disease.

WHY: To educate and inform the community about the latest information on women and heart disease.

According to the American Heart Association, only 13 percent of women view heart disease as a health threat, even though it’s women’s number one killer.

Cardiovascular disease kills more than 480,000 women a year, about one per minute while coronary heart disease is the number one single killer of women over age 25.
