Florida Hospital DeLand has hired Kembala Castle, RN, as Orthopaedic Clinical Coordinator.
In this new role, Castle will act as patients’ personal liaison and will follow them through the entire joint replacement process, from the pre-operative class through discharge and post-operative follow-up care.
In 2006, Castle relocated to DeLand from Long Island, NY with her family. She has experience in a variety of areas within the nursing field, including Medical/Surgical, Pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. However, the majority of Castle’s experience has been within the Orthopaedic arena, making her a perfect fit for serving as the Clinical Coordinator at the Florida Hospital DeLand Orthopaedic Center of Excellence. Additionally, her previous experience as a Case Manager and Clinical Manager will be a valuable asset as she works with patients in her new role on discharge planning and promoting patient education for a healthier lifestyle.
Castle obtained a nursing degree at the Helene Fuld College of Nursing in New York City. She is currently continuing her education and pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing from Nova Southeastern University.
“Florida Hospital DeLand is fortunate to have a nurse of her caliber in this challenging role,” said Jill Piazza, Florida Hospital DeLand Director of Sports Medicine/Rehab and Orthopaedics.
