Harvest of Music: 8th Annual Celebration of Thanksgiving

DELAND – On Friday, November 18, more than 600 people joined Florida Hospital DeLand and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial for the eighth annual “Harvest of Music” program featuring Larnelle Harris at First Assembly DeLand, 551 S. Kepler Road.  This was the largest audience the free program has ever received.

Harris is the only person in history to be a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and the Amateur Radio Hall of Fame. He is five-time Grammy and 11-time Dove Award winner, has been named Male Vocalist of the Year three times by the gospel music industry, and has garnered 19 number one national radio singles and countless top 10 hits. Songs such as "How Excellent Is Thy Name," "I Miss My Time with You," "I've Just Seen Jesus," and "Amen," are now considered modern gospel classics.

“We are all so blessed in many ways and God deserves our thanks and praise,” said Daryl Tol, Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler Market CEO. “Our faith community is so supportive and we do this as a thank you gift to all of those supporters.”

Florida Hospital DeLand and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial are part of the Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler nonprofit hospital system and this program serves as another example of their mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ. In 2010, Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler collectively contributed more than $107 million in benefits to the underprivileged, the community’s overall health and wellness and spiritual needs, and capital improvements.
