DELAND, FLORIDA, February 18, 2008 - Florida Hospital DeLand is pleased to announce Patricia Scott RN, BSN, MBA, CEN as the hospital’s new Chief Nursing Officer.

Since 2006, Scott has been the Florida Hospital DeLand’s Director of Critical Care and led a team to streamline and improve efficiencies in the department resulting in an average door to doctor wait of just 41 minutes. Under her leadership, the Emergency Department also reduced the percent of patients leaving without being seen to less than 2% from greater than 5% the year prior, far below most other hospitals.

In her new role, Scott will be responsible for providing administrative direction to both the nursing and clinical pharmacy departments, assisting with the development and implementation of a patient centered inpatient care model, and promoting the professional development of nursing and pharmacy staff to a achieve career growth and clinical expertise.

Scott received her Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of Kentucky, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan and her Masters of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. Before moving to DeLand, Patricia was the Emergency Department Director at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Florida.
